Dolce Vita in difficult times

Even if times are still hard in Germany in spring 2021: Every now and then there is some positive news! Currently, for example, for the approximately 5,000 inhabitants of Wörth an der Donau in the Upper Palatinate, exactly halfway between Regensburg and Straubing.

Because on Saturday 20 February, the Melina ice cream par lour opened there and is bringing a piece of "dolce vita" back to children and adults: ice cream, enjoyment and joie de vivre!

The Melina Ice Cream Café in Wörth an der Donau

Only to-go for now - but the full programme!

Of course, the same strict Corona rules apply in Wörth an der Donau as everywhere else in Bavaria - and that is why the Melina ice cream parlour can currently only open with restrictions: With strict hygiene and distance rules and only in to-go operation.

Nevertheless, the two owners, Tanja Schimpf and Andreas Surovcev, are going all out to pamper the people of Wörth: In addition to delicious ice cream from their own production, there are homemade cakes and pies and delicious coffee to take away.

And the first beautiful weekend shows once again: even and especially in the current situation, customers are immensely happy about a bit of enjoyment, joy and normality - the rush was accordingly huge. And it wasn't just "thanks" to the 1.5 m gap that the queue at the ice cream counter was impressively long on the first weekend .

The technology: From the company Krä

Of course, we are particularly pleased that we were allowed to implement the entire project. The Planning and installation of the furnishings and seating in theinstallation of the refrigeration systems, the planning and delivery of the Ice labs and the storage rooms.

With a individual, customised furnishings from Bocchini, attractive seating from Et Al, and a Ice cream laboratory with brand new, high quality equipment from Carpigiani and Sagi nothing stands in the way of success.

A little anecdote on the side: No, not everything went completely smoothly. Corona and the resulting restrictions, problems and postponements put more than one stone in our path - from delayed completion of the goods to the onset of winter and black ice to haulage trucks getting stuck at the border crossings because of the Corona measures. But with a lot of dedication, perseverance and improvisation, we were able to solve all the problems - and the opening could take place as planned.

All's well that ends well - and as soon as the first customers enjoyed the ice cream, everyone's tension dissolved into smiles!
